MISSIONARY PARISH CONFERENCE 2026
Practical Information
Welcome to the fifth Missionary Parish Conference in the Netherlands!
Come to the Conference!
On March 12 & 13, 2026, we invite you to De Basiliek in Veenendaal for the fifth Missionary Parish Conference – a two-day celebration of faith, encounter, and renewal, with Fr. James Mallon.
Concrete Experiences
Over the past five years, parishes have taken beautiful steps: people are finding Jesus, communities are growing, the Spirit is at work. At the same time, we know how challenging parish life can be.
Everyone Welcome!
That’s why this jubilee: a place to be inspired, to share experiences, and to move forward together. Whether you are already on the journey or still hesitating to begin – you are welcome!
The theme: "Put out into the deep water" (Luke 5,4)
Jesus challenges us...
Jesus challenges his future disciples, after a night of hard work, to set out again at his word and cast their nets: “Put out into the deep!” This requires them to let go of their own familiar and proven methods in order to follow his command. This step of faith proves to be worth it: the nets are overflowing!
Even today!
That same challenge applies to our parishes today. Do we dare to take a new path, despite obstacles and uncertainty? How do we persevere once we have taken that step of faith? This passage from the Gospel of Luke forms the guiding thread of the conference. Through plenary sessions, seminars, testimonies, and encounters with parishes from home and abroad, we will explore this theme together.
Who is invited?
Everyone who wants to embrace the vision of the missionary parish or who is interested in exploring this road is welcome to take part in the conference! Our international and Protestant brothers and sisters are also warmly invited.
Groups
Building a missionary parish is not something you can do by yourself. We therefore encourage people to bring their fellow parishioners along! There is a special group rate available for groups of 5 people or more.
Youth
Young people are of major importance to the Church of today and tomorrow - this is why you are warmly invited to the conference!
There is a specific gathering for students and young professionals (<35 years old) in the evening of Thursday, 12 March - the Young People’s MeetUp!
